Frequently Asked Questions
How do I indicate a gift purchase?
Notes can be added on the checkout screen. No need to type "this is a gift" or "don't include the price." The packing slip (without pricing info) will contain the note as it is typed. Due to volume, notes cannot be added after the purchase. Unfortunately, at the present we do not offer any additional gift packaging.
How quickly will my order ship?
Current processing time is 3-5 business days. We are a small-batch hand-poured candle company. From wicking, to labeling, to mixing and pouring, all parts of our process are done by hand. We make every effort to ship your orders as quickly as possible. Outside of high volume times, our normal processing time is 3 - 5 business days after the order has been received. All orders are shipped from Maryland via USPS Priority Mail. You will receive a tracking number for your order when it is fulfilled. Expedited processing is not available.
I entered the wrong mailing address. What do I do?
Please email us the correct shipping address and we will update it. In cases where the wrong address was entered by the customer, if the package is returned to us, we will re-ship and send the customer a Paypal invoice for the 2nd shipping charge.
I received a delivery notification but my package hasn't arrived.
Some USPS carriers commonly scan their packages on their vehicles prior to delivery. Packages marked as delivered that aren't received typically arrive the following day.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes, local pickup is available. At checkout, select local pickup.
Do you have a storefront?
On an occasional basis, we offer open studio hours for our customers to shop for our signature and limited edition candles. Please follow us on Facebook & Instagram to find out about dates and times.
How are your candles made?
Our candles are made with all-natural soy wax, braided cotton wicks, and scented oils. Just wax, wick, and scent with no other additives or dyes.
What do you use to create the scents?
Our candles are all infused with a blend of premium fragrance oils and pure essential oils. Most of our curated fragrance combinations are year-round fragrances. Select a fragrance based on the desired mood or environment.
Where do you get your materials?
Whenever possible, we source all of our materials from companies here in the US.
Why should I trim the wick and only burn your candles for 3 hours at a time?
These are common instructions and good practices for any candle and are meant to prolong a candle’s burn time. A longer wick creates a larger flame, a larger flame melts the wax faster, and the wax melts faster than the wick burns away. So the longer your candle burns, the larger the flame gets, causing your candle to melt faster and faster. Keeping the wick trimmed and burning 3 hours at a time slows everything down so you get a longer burn time.
Additionally, burning your candle for 3 hours at a time ensures that the wax melts all the way to the edge of the container. The melted wax (not the flame) is what gives off your candle’s scent, so this will maximize your candle’s scent when lit. It will also prevent your candle from “tunneling”, or burning a hole down the center of the candle while leaving a ring of un-melted wax along the inside of the container.
If you burn the candle for longer than three hours, extinguish the candle, trim the wick and relight.
What makes an all-natural soy wax candle different?
While paraffin wax is refined from crude oil, soy wax is made from soybeans- a completely renewable resource. Compared to paraffin, soy wax burns cleaner with no petrol-carbon soot. Soy wax also burns slower than paraffin, so soy wax candles also last longer.
